Frequently Asked Questions

The NDIS has two types of providers: registered and unregistered

NDIS Registered providers

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has put NDIS registered providers through a rigorous application procedure before granting approval. As an NDIS registered provider, Better Connections NT has complied with strict requirements, such as having the necessary licenses, insurance, and policies in place, to guarantee that NDIS members are offered with safe and high-quality services.

NDIS Unregistered providers

NDIS unregistered providers not registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and are not required to adhere to the same standards and have not been subjected to the same level of inspection as registered providers.

Even though these providers may not be able to offer all services to NDIS participants and may not be qualified to receive funds directly from the NDIS, unregistered NDIS providers can nonetheless offer services to NDIS participants. Furthermore, users of unregistered providers might not have access to the same level of security and safety as users of registered providers.

NDIS participants are encouraged to carefully weigh the advantages and disadvantages of working with licensed and unregistered providers before making a choice that meets all their needs.
